Creating A Clean Environment For Your Staff Business / Marketing / Work

Your staff are working in an office five days a week, and for many, they’ll end up spending more time in the office, than they do in their own homes. So it’s important that you create a nice environment for them to work in. Here’s how to create a clean environment for your staff.

Get The Right Cleaners

In order to keep your space clean, you want to get the right cleaners for the job. You want to think about how many people work in your building and how many cleaners will be required in order to clean up the office for the following day. That might mean you have cleaners in throughout the day who keep on top of everything and then have an evening shift to finish off. Or if you’ve got a smaller space, then you might just be able to manage with cleaners at the end of the day. Either way, you want to ensure you’re using a reliable company like Evergreen Janitorial Services, Inc. and that you’re keeping on top of how efficient and effective they are as your business grows and changes.

Encourage Staff To Do Their Bit

Staff need to remember that the workplace isn’t a free for all to be messy and treat it with disrespect. Whatever they wouldn’t do in their own home should be the same attitude when it comes to the workplace. It might be worth setting some rules regarding their own workspace and their communal areas. For the workspace, they should be moving all empty cups and dishes into the kitchen. For the communal areas like the breakout space and kitchen, it’s worth having someone going around every day to do their bit in keeping it clean. This is something everyone should do, even the managers. They’ll then understand what the cleaners are doing, and there will hopefully be respect to try and keep it at least somewhat clean during the day.

Put In Extra Storage

Everything within a space should have a home, and whether it’s paperwork or electronic equipment, there should be some storage available for everything. This means that fewer things will be lying around the office space and will cause less of a tripping hazard. With everything out of sight, it makes for a significantly cleaner space. So where it’s needed, add in some extra storage to cater for all the relevant things that are lying around without a home. It could be furniture that is multi-functioning to putting up floating shelves around the office.

Have A Breakout Space For Lunch

There are often too many staff members eating at their desk, and so it’s worth ensuring that a breakout space is available for all staff to get away from their work and to eat in a communal space. Eating at a desk can be very unhygienic, particularly if the cleaners don’t do much cleaning around these areas. Plus there can be a lot of cross-contamination because they may not be washing their hands after eating.

With these tips, you can create a healthy and organized working environment for all your staff.
