Startup: New Parents Make Eco Kids Pants that Fit 3X Longer Startups

The following is an article written by an incredibly passionate couple that have become friends of mine whom I have had the pleasure of meeting whilst living on Norfolk Island. This couple are amazing and inspiring business owners in a very challenging startup environment. They would love your support. So, if you feel as passionately about helping entrepreneurs find their way in the world as I do, please re-share, and repost with everyone you can think of. And please, if you can, go the extra step and help them reach their financial crowdfunding goal of $25,000 USD.

New Parents Tire of Packing Away Clothes; Make Eco Kids Pants that Fit 3X Longer

Post by Rachel Evans and Jesse Schiller, owners of Kooshoo

Babies grow fast. Every 3 months a size is retired and a new item is needed. Norfolk Island based parents and entrepreneurs, Rachel Evans and Jesse Schiller, wanted a better solution. The result is a crowdfunding campaign for a line of one-of-a-kind artist-dyed kids pants that fit 3 times longer than other kids pants.

“Being a parent is hard work”, shares Rachel, the company’s Designer, “we made these pants to make life just a little easier”. Benefits of the longer life include less shopping, less packing away and less waste, a major pitfall of fast fashion. Perhaps most important to parents, by trading 3 pairs of pants for 1, there are also more savings.

The pants are ethically made in downtown Los Angeles using super-soft organic cotton and long-lasting craftsmanship often reserved for high performance athletic wear. “They’re toddler strong and baby soft” adds Rachel, ensuring a win-win for parent and child alike.

Rachel and Jesse are the founders of KOOSHOO, an ethical fashion brand based on Norfolk Island in the South Pacific (Kooshoo means “feeling good” in the local language). They ethically manufacture in the USA to create jobs and ensure great quality on all levels. Conscious choices are made at every step of the supply chain to ensure that all stakeholders are treated fairly, that their ecological footprint is minimized and that the end result is the highest quality product that can be made.

The pants are available in solid neutrals for every-day staples and batik patterns that are individually hand dyed by and artist in a solar powered facility. They come in 4 sizes, for 1 month olds through to 5 year olds.

The pants launched Thursday, April 7th, via crowdfunding platform Indiegogo and will be shipping globally from their LA based warehouse. Early bird prices range from 10-60% off retail and funding closes June 6. Watch the campaign video and learn more at https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/the-best-kids-pants-in-the-world#/
